Growing Deeper in October

October is a month dedicated to deepening your relationship with God through intentional prayer. It’s a time to set aside distractions and focus on growing spiritually by connecting with the Lord in a deeper, more meaningful way. This month’s prayer plan guides you through key aspects of prayer, beginning with intercession for others, including those who may have hurt or mistreated you. As the weeks progress, you will enter into a spirit of gratitude, offering thanks and praise to God for His goodness. You will also be called to worship, bowing before Him in reverence and acknowledging His greatness. The journey culminates in seeking the baptism of the Holy Spirit, inviting His power into your life to guide, strengthen, and transform you. Each day of October is an opportunity to grow deeper by humbling yourself, aligning your heart with God’s will, and allowing His presence to fill you with grace, peace, and purpose. Through prayer, you will cultivate a richer, more vibrant faith as you draw nearer to the heart of God.

Growing Deeper in Faith: A Weekly Prayer Strategy

1. Pray for Others
2. Giving Thanks & Praise
3. Honor, Worship & Reverence

4. For the Baptism of the Holy Ghost

Week One: Praying for Others

Tuesday, the 1st
Luke 6:28 AMPC
"Invoke blessings upon and pray for the happiness of those who curse you, implore God's blessing (favor) upon those who abuse you [who revile, reproach, disparage, and high-handedly misuse you]."

Prayer:
Pray for those who mistreat you or take advantage of you or hurt you, or devalue you. Pray for blessings, God's favor, and His presence to surround them today. Lord soften their hearts and give them peace.

Wednesday, the 2nd

1 Timothy 2:3-4 AMPC
"For such [praying] is good and right, and [it is] pleasing and acceptable to God our Savior, [4] Who wishes all men to be saved and [increasingly] to perceive and recognize and discern and know precisely and correctly the [divine] Truth."

Prayer:
Today, pray for your loved ones to come to know Jesus as Lord. Ask the Lord to remove the walls and obstacles that hold them back. Soften their hearts and cause them to remember all the testimonies about God Almighty.

Thursday, the 3rd
Ephesians 4:32 AMPC
"And become useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving one another [readily and freely], as God in Christ forgave you."

Prayer:
Is there anyone in your life you need to forgive? Today, pray for the strength to let it go and truly forgive—just as Jesus forgave you.

Friday, the 4th

Mark 10:45 AMPC
"For even the Son of Man came not to have service rendered to Him, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for (instead of) many."

Prayer:
Today, pray for opportunities to help someone else. Jesus came primarily to serve us, meeting a need so great that we could not handle it ourselves. Lord, create a God moment where I can show Your love.

Saturday, the 5th

Colossians 3:13 AMPC
"Be gentle and forbearing with one another and, if one has a difference (a grievance or complaint) against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has [freely] forgiven you, so must you also [forgive]."

Prayer:
Sometimes, we don’t learn the lesson after just one class; we need it again. Today, ask the Lord for the strength to forgive those who have wronged and hurt you, both intentionally and unintentionally. What would Jesus do in your situation? He showed us on the day of His crucifixion—He forgave.

[4] For You, O Lord, have made me glad by Your works; at the deeds of Your hands, I joyfully sing. [5] How great are Your doings, O Lord! Your thoughts are very deep."

Write down five things you’re thankful for. Take time to thank God for each one and try to be detailed.

[4] In His hand are the deep places of the earth; the heights and strength of the hills are His also. [5] The sea is His, for He made it; and His hands formed the dry land. [6] O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker [in reverent praise and supplication]."

[3] And he asked, 'Into what [baptism] then were you baptized?' They said, 'Into John's baptism.' [4] And Paul said, 'John baptized with the baptism of repentance, continually telling the people that they should believe in the One Who was to come after him, that is, in Jesus [having a conviction full of joyful trust that He is Christ, the Messiah, and being obedient to Him].' [5] On hearing this, they were baptized [again, this time] in the name of the Lord Jesus.
